Description

Titanium dioxide is a non-toxic inorganic pigment with excellent whiteness and brightness and strong hiding ability. It is one of the best white pigments in the world.


It has Rutile type (Rutile R type) and Anatase type (Anatase A type) two kinds of structure, rutile crystal structure is compact, relatively stable, small optical activity, so good weather resistance, at the same time has a higher hiding power, bleaching power.


It is widely used in all kinds of structural surface coatings, paper coatings and fillers, plastics and elastomers, and other uses include ceramics, glass, catalysts, coated fabrics, printing inks, roofing and flux, of which coating accounted for 60%, plastic accounted for 20%, paper making accounted for 14%, other (including cosmetics, chemical fiber, electronics, ceramics, enamel, electrode, alloy, glass and other fields) accounted for 6%.


Sulphate processes and Chloride processes are used to manufacture Titanium dioxide£º

The advantages of Sulphate processes are that it can take ilmenite and sulfuric acid, which are cheap and easy to obtain, as raw materials, the technology is mature, the equipment is simple, and the anti-corrosion materials are easy to solve. Its disadvantage is that the process is long, can only be intermittent operation, wet operation, sulfuric acid, water consumption is high, waste and by-products, pollution to the environment.

The advantages of Chloride process are short process, easy expansion of production capacity, high degree of continuous automation, relatively low energy consumption, "three waste" less, can get high-quality products. Its disadvantages are large investment, complex equipment structure, high material requirements, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, equipment is difficult to maintain, research and development is difficult.
